First – Who We Are
At Arcus LGBT CIC, we pride ourselves on being a nationwide LGBT+ counselling service, but our doors are open to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We are dedicated to combating and reducing the challenges faced by LGBT+ individuals, while also striving to improve the mental health and emotional well-being of all our clients.
We firmly believe that counselling is not a luxury, but a necessity. Because we recognise of the financial strain many face, we are committed to providing high-quality services at affordable prices. Despite the cost of living crisis, we remain steadfast in our commitment to keeping our services accessible to all who need them.
Whether you identify as LGBT+ or not, Arcus is here to support you on your journey towards better mental health and well-being. Our team of experienced counsellors is ready to provide you with the compassionate and professional support you deserve whilst also supporting the needs of the LGBT+ community.
Our Social Media Presence
We’ve been busy expanding our presence to multiple social media platforms and are sending this article out to see how everything is going to look. Depending on how everything appears we can plan what platforms we’re going to prioritise going forward.
Historically we’ve been very reliant and more active on our Facebook page to keep our online presence outside our website more active. Our FB page coupled with Google’s platform has helped visitors find our website and service.
However our dependence and ongoing presence on these platforms cannot be held uncritically in our position as an LGBT+ organisation due to past changes in their policies and actions.

Google and Meta’s overwhelming presence online makes it difficult for us to avoid engaging with their platforms, while their reach makes them effective tools for us to advertise and maintain our service.
There are also limitations to how much attention we can give each of the platforms we have signed up for, listing them here;

Our X (formerly Twitter) profile is currently defunct, as is our Threads profile (though we do auto-post there.
Keeping on top of all these platforms and keeping you up to date is primarily done through our website at the current time as we’re able to forward posts from our website out to our social media.
Looking for volunteers
You may have seen that we’re looking for guest writers and social media volunteers to help make sure that our audience is kept up to date, but it also presents an opportunity to join our volunteer lead community and help make a difference to our community of interest. You may also acquire knowledge and skills through our Training or in helping us deliver our service.
However we’re also looking for alternatives to how we engage online (and offline) and hope you’ll join us on that journey, or even send us your suggestions to contact@arcuslgbt.com.
