What is Counselling?

Counselling is a confidential helping activity whereby through the use of active listening you are empowered to help yourself face your issues and develop strategies for coping with them.

Who can access Counselling?

Anyone!  We currently take referrals from anyone, you do not need to go to your GP, you can refer yourself directly here.

What type of Counselling do we offer?

Currently we offer a mixture of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, as well as some Psychodynamic and Gestalt Therapies.

What is the process to get started?

  • Firstly you would complete a referral form here
  • When we receive that we contact you straight away, or next working day at latest.
  • We have a FREE initial consultation, where we will complete a full assessment with you, to make sure counselling is the right choice for you, and also, if applicable, agree your fee rate.
  • These details are then handed over to your therapist,who will book you in for an appointment asap [currently clients are being seen within one week of submitting a referral form]

Personal Therapy For Students:

We are pleased to now offer Personal Therapy to Counselling Students, which some training establishments mandate as part of their courses.

If you would like to book personal therapy with Arcus; please complete and submit a referral form.

Is there are cost for counselling and personal therapy with Arcus?

It all depends on your circumstances, sometimes it can be FREE for you. We will always discuss this with you before you start any services with us. You can read more about our pricing policy here.
