Keeping our Service Affordable
At Arcus we believe everyone deserves access to mental health support. We do our best to ensure our prices remain as affordable and reasonable as possible, one of the ways we do that is by giving our clients the flexibility a means tested service provides.
Our ‘standard’ counselling service is provided on a means tested model, from as little as £10 per session to as much as £30, it is quite possibly the most affordable paid counselling service that it is feasible to offer in the UK (no guarantees). We ask for payment based off of your working hours, however, there is no way for us to police this thoroughly and we wouldn’t want to, even those who work full time can struggle to pay the full price as the cost of living continues to remain high – and mental health doesn’t cease being a worthy investment that enhances people’s quality of life where it can be nurtured and improved. Where we can be flexible we will be, that is a benefit that everyone deserves, if in doubt, ask us!
Our prices are not there to represent the quality of the service we provide, everyone at Arcus is DBS checked, insured, and is a member of a professional body that regulates counselling activities in the UK. Where our counsellors are trainees they wouldn’t be providing counselling without being signed off as good to go from multiple bodies and have been trained to the standard that reflects that decision.

We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers contributing their time to ensuring we can run the service – we owe our continued existence as an organisation to them along with our deepest and sincerest thanks.
We don’t rely on chatbots for shortcuts here, we respect the ability of our team to do the best they can. We believe in the power of people to help support each other!
Other Services we provide
We also provide a ‘premium’ service, this price is more in line with private counselling prices, by offering this tier it allows us to continue to expand the services, with the assistance of associate counsellors who work with us and provide additional capacity for us to see clients as an organisation, for clients this means reduced waiting times, and more closely meeting any requirements you may have of a counsellor.
We are aware that not everyone can access counselling at the market price, which is why we consider our means tested service to be so essential. We ask those who can help us by paying closer to the market price do so and help ensure we can continue to operate and help others on their mental health journey.
